What Does Goodness in the Living Mean?

Why wasn’t I good enough?

The origin of the name came from Psalm 27:13-14: “I will remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” In a long period of waiting for a child, I meditated on this verse. Throughout those years of waiting, I went through many ups and downs. I doubted God’s goodness and thought it might not be for me. I questioned what I had done wrong. Why wasn’t I good enough? (More on that here) The Lord showed me over and over that his goodness is also for me, not through a child, but through close relationship with him. I started to look for the goodness in the everyday. Some people write gratitude journals or meditation mantras. I wanted to look for the beauty. Interrupt my thoughts with your beauty, God. You’ll see me ask that question on Instagram. Where are you seeing the beauty today? Where is God interrupting your thoughts? Where do you find goodness in the living?

The mission of this blog and the essays you’ll see stem from the desire to encourage people with greater love of God’s word and greater understanding of his heart for them—to notice those moments of goodness in the living, no matter the circumstances.
